Nine little witches made out of seaweed, lichen, grasses and rabbits’ tails fly up a net made from the wrapping off silage bales. The rabbits were delicious.

About the Course

ln the Nine Ladies tetrahedron the middle triangle represents Knowledge. lt is formed by
connecting the centre point of each of the external edges of the tetrahedron – where the
Stone meets the Threads, the Threads meet the Stick, and the Stick meets the Stone – and
shares a border with each of those triangles. During the course we explored these points
and connections, and slipped to and fro across the borders.

This included work on the following:

  • Creativity is not the preserve of specialists; we can live creatively. This involves
balancing perseverance, with flexibility and openness, which is not easy. Can we
become more skilful at it? What is the relationship between permanence, change,
and the new, in the creative process?
  • Knowledge, which is bound up with the subjects of philosophy and religion, has been
an object of interest in itself since humans first considered such matters. Most
records of work in these areas have been left to us by men; women have been
generally illiterate in the past and therefore silent. Did they approach them
differently to men? Does the fact they have been silent mean that their knowledge
has been lost to us, or are there ways we can tap into it that do not involve words?
  • What is the relationship between Knowledge and the body?
